I can’t even make this shit up.
My co-worker and I were walking to our 5:00 client meeting - our clients drove in and were staying at a local hotel - when we came to a stop at an intersection. After waiting for the light to turn green, we proceeded in the intersection. Nick said nochelantly, “Oh, hey, watch out.” I turned to look, a car backed into me. I fell on the trunk and people started yelling. I am fine; he wasn’t going more than five miles an hour. He was in the middle of the intersection and, instead of taking the turn, he decided to back up. The only problem was that there were people crossing the street. Specifically me - I was crossing the street.
I am more aware of my leg that was hit than I normally am. It’s like numb or something. But I doubt it will bruise.
The nasty Progressive lady called me today to say that I was found zero percent liable. Poor Mackenzie Phillips has to pay for all my repairs. Too bad.
I just got home from a whirl-wind tour - four days in San Francisco, three days in Lake Geneva - both for client business. The meetings were fun; I had a good time. I am very glad to be home.
On Monday, about one mile from our destination, my collegues and I were hit by a 17 year old kid. I was driving, turning left when he tried to pass me on the left. No one was hurt. I just spoke with his insurance company and I got a little heated. (NOTE: don’t talk to insurance companies after a glass of wine.) It went downhill when she said that my story was “quite a bit different” than his story. He said I had my right turn signal on, which I did not. Thank goodness the Williams Bay police took all those measurements. Thank you, Officer Jeff!
