Whiskey Sour

Filed under: Drink of the Week — carrie @ 10:39 pm

1 part Jameson Irish Whiskey
3 parts Sweet and Sour Mix

Mix in cocktail shaker with ice, pour in a highball glass.

I have renewed my interest in Whiskey Sours this week, mostly because Jameson was on sale at Dominick’s and I thought, “I haven’t had whiskey in a while.”

Cuba, Cu-ba!

Filed under: Drink of the Week — carrie @ 6:20 pm

Recently I dined at Cafe LaGuardia, a delicious Cuban restaurant in Chicago, and had this fabulous drink. It gets a little sweet at the bottom.

Mojito

2 oz. Light Rum
1/2 Lime
1 Teaspoon Sugar
Mint Leaves
Squeeze lime into chilled 10 oz. glass, add sugar and mint. Muddle until sugar is dissolved. Fill glass with crushed ice and pour rum. Swizzle until glass frosts, adding additional crushed ice and rum as needed. Garnish with mint leaves and serve with straws. You may top off drink with cold club soda, or a dash of dark rum.
